About Professor Geeta Singh
- Prof. Geeta Singh is currently a Professor and Director at the Centre for Professional Development in Higher Education, University of Delhi, Delhi.
- Prior to joining CPDHE in the year 2015, she also worked as a Director (Professor) at UGC-HRDC, BPS Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Sonepat (HR) from 2012-2015 and as a teaching faculty at the University of Delhi (1999-2012) and CCS Meerut University from 1995 to 1998.
- She holds double Graduation in History and Law apart from a double Master in History as well as Mass Communication. She holds M. Phil and Ph.D. in History from CCS Meerut University.
- She has organized more than 200 national and international event under the capacity of Director CPDHE, University of Delhi.
- Her area of interest includes Contemporary Modern Indian History, Cultural History of India, Professional Development and Higher Education, Gender Studies, and Hindi Sahitya.
- She has published about 3 dozen books and over 50 Research Papers in Reputed Journals of National and International repute. Prof. Geeta Singh has presented over 100 Research Papers at several Conferences/Seminars/ Workshops in India and Abroad. She has widely travelled to several countries for academic purposes including Bhutan, Nepal, and Malaysia, Cambodia, Sri Lanka
- She has delivered over 300 invited lectures at institutions of higher learning and professional development.
- She is a nominated member on various high-powered committees, academic and professional bodies, and on the editorial boards of several reputed journals. Prof. Geeta Singh has been instrumental in conceptualising, planning and effectively organising about two hundred (200) innovative and inter-disciplinary professional development programmes/courses of national repute as the Director of HRDC. Some of the programmes have been organised in collaboration with several institutes of Eminence like the Indian Council of Philosophical Research, Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, Rashtirya Shikshan Mandal etc.
